Ionizing radiation, also known as radioactive radiation, is a type of radiation that generates high energy and can cause atomic ionization of surrounding materials, hence it is called ionizing radiation. In the field of radiation protection, ionizing radiation refers to the radiation that produces ion pairs in biological substances. Ionizing radiation can be divided into α、β、γ (X) , n radiation. The source of ionizing radiation can be radioactive isotopes (both natural and artificially produced), nuclear reaction devices such as reactors, colliders, accelerators, fusion devices, etc., or X-ray machines used for medical diagnosis and treatment.
Radiological testing refers to the safety testing of machines or construction sites that can generate ionizing radiation or electromagnetic radiation with radioactivity. Due to the enormous radioactive hazards and the need for specialized instruments to perceive them, radioactive detection is widely used in production and daily life.
Application of radioactive detectors:
1. Check for radioactive leaks and local nuclear radiation contamination;
2. Check the radioactivity of building materials, such as stone;
3. Check for landfill waste and garbage with radiation hazards;
4. Check the X-ray radiation intensity of medical and industrial X-ray instruments;
5. Check for radium contamination of groundwater;
6. Check the radioactivity of underground pipelines and equipment;
7. Monitor the pollution of air and water quality around nuclear reactors;
8. Conduct harmful radiation tests on personal valuable property and jewelry;
9. Check the radioactivity of glass cups and other objects on ceramic tableware;
10. Accurately locate the radiation source;
11. Radiological examination of household decorations.
Application scenarios: water companies, disease prevention and control centers, environmental monitoring stations, food and drug supervision and administration, higher education institutions, geological survey stations, construction departments, environmental protection, ports and border customs, national security, emergency monitoring and other departments, nuclear research and education departments, other scientific research and third-party testing institutions |
